Good morning and it is a beautiful day! I have been thinking a lot about what to write daily - it is ALL in my head and the challenge is to put it in writing.

My favorite time to think and ponder is when I am either walking Qtip my dog, riding my bike or driving my car.

More recently I have been thinking a lot about leisure, wellness and Baby Boomers - how we are slowly becoming the next "great generation." It seems that we are working and focused more on staying healthy and in shape. Is that what/how our parents thought at our age (I'll be 58 soon)? I think not.

So, it would seem to me that a great career to have is to be involved in a field that is closely related to health, fitness, wellness, and financial security - how and if to retire and be able to stay healthy and fit in today's world.

Another area of interest is the graceful way to treat and honor the "great generation" as they exit our world. This generation is those that are well into their '80's, 90's and above.

  1. Hi Mary- I'm wondering if you have thought about keeping a writing journal or using some sort of recording device to capture your thinking. I went through a really tough time a couple of years ago professionally and it caused me to have major writing anxiety and block. I got through it by keeping a narrative journal with a friend (via google docs) where I explored my readings and made theory-practice connections, and I also used the text-to-speech function in notes on my phone. I also get a lot of ideas when I'm just letting my mind wander- like when I'm exercising or driving- and I found it helpful to say them out loud, convert to text, and email myself to start to generate written text.
